Todd, I posted a message on the misc.health.diabetes list regarding cycling,
and I got a message back from this guy. He sent me a very helpful note and I
noticed that he worked for Evans & Sutherland in Salt Lake City. So I sent him
back some e-mail and he sent me this reply. Thought you might find it a bit
interesting.
See Ya Later/Mike

You're welcome. Hope you work out a good regimen for yourself.
Bicycling can be an incredibly rewarding exercise & transportation
mechanism. A few years ago before I was married I rode RAGBRAI & 2
yrs I rode Cycle Oregon, both 7-day supported rides of 60-80 mi. per
day. Wonderful experiences I hope to do again with my wife.

Digistar. E&S has 3 major products -- super-high end 3D graphics
workstations, image generators for flight simulators, & Digistar which
is a "smaller" product but successful in its market niche.
E&S started as a graphics workstation co. in 1968 & was the premier
developer in that area for many years. Corp. mgmt. kept it from
becoming a Sun or Silicon Graphics unfortunately. I work in flight
simulation, currently building a symbology generator (heads-up
displays & in-cockpit multi-function displays). In the past I've
worked on military aircraft radar simulation & done exploitation work
on the visual image generators. Fun work, good tools (hardware &
software) to work with, & access to Internet...what more could one
want?
However, if I thought there was any way I could make a living owning a
bike shop...but be realistic!
Take care, Bob
