6 APR marks the 30th anniversary of the first commercial communication
satellite, INTELSAT 1. On 11 APR, 25 years ago, APOLLO 13 began its ill-
fated mission; see related article in this issue. On 15 APR people in
Pacific Rim countries will be able to view a PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE. 22
APR is EARTH DAY and the peak day for the LYRIDS METEOR SHOWER. 25 APR
marks the 5th anniversary of the HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE deployment. On
29 APR South Americans will witness an ANNULAR ECLIPSE.
