T H I S M O N T H I N A S T R O N O M Y - M A Y
Every month this column will try to prepare readers for upcoming
astronomical events both up in the sky and down on the ground.
If you know of an event that should be posted here, please send
mail to vanhoose@lalaland.cl.msu.edu.
5 MAY marks the peak of the Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower. 6 MAY is ASTRONOMY
DAY. Help spread the word! On 22 MAY, SATURN'S RING will disappear, at
least to Earth-based astronomers. At 4am EST the ring plane will intersect
with the Earth for the first of several times. And 30 MAY marks the 20th
ANNIVERSARY of the EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY.
