Hey, these aren't our only friends, or even necessarily our most
important friends. They may be past or present co-workers, schoolmates,
family members, e-friends, acquaintances, or just people with interesting
pages. They are just people with whom we don't mind associating* who also
happen to have web pages! If you consider yourself a friend, and have a
web page, send us an e-mail. We're easy! :-)
* No guarantees that it's mutual.
- Mike Buchanon, MSU
Computer Lab. Mike worked his way up at the Computer Lab much the same way
that I did. First a student consultant, then 90-day temp a few times, then
on-call, then full time. He will always be a big fuzzy bear to me!
- Kendall and Bob Cusmano (and Bailey). Kendall was my first
"official" girlfriend. Somehow we managed to stay friends and not feel too
icky about it. We met on the Meadowbrook swim team. At least, I think
she was a member for a day or two...
- Kolyan DasGupta.
Kolyan and I have been friends since 4th grade. He is one of those Genuinely
Nice Guys™ that you hear so much about but don't get to meet very
often. Kolyan and I did a lot of adventuring together. He was a groomsman at
our wedding.
- Steve Dunham, former MSU
Graphics Lab employ, er, associ, er, guy who hung out there a lot.
- Matt Ho. Matt and I got to be very
good friends in high school, and I was sad when he left with his family to
California. He's made it on his own out there now, and we still manage to
keep in touch and visit from time to time. He's finally put his Web
site up, so have a look (but it's not for the faint of heart, weak of mind
or dearth of humor). Matt wore army boots and a sairong to our 10-year
high school reunion. As long as he keeps his clothes on for the 20-year, I'll
be happy.
- Geoff, Olya and
Maxim Jenkins. Geoff and I lived on the same floor my junior year at MSU,
but we didn't develop a friendship until we noticed each other in (where
else?) a Mac lab at MSU. He was just at MSU for a year, but liked it so much
(read: he was crazy enough) that he came back a year later for grad school
(and in the process, met his wife Olya). Another fellow adventurer, he was
also a groomsman at our wedding. Yet another friend I've lost (so to speak)
to the nice weather, beaches and high-tech communities of California.
- Tom Kane, former Primix network and systems admin, is in a couple
bands, including OUTLOUD and Without Warning.
- Matthew Kennedy, a very
smart engineer who knows networking and home entertainment like all get out.
His wife, Nancy Paz, is a good friend of Mailin.
- Erik P. Larson. Erik
and I worked together in the Computer Lab and frequented El Azteka. Boy, I
miss El Az!
- Michael and Rosanne Method. Mike was
my Best Man. He now lives up in Alaska, and occasionally rants.
- James
Nicholls, who has a fun web site worthy of mention here (not that it's a
huge honor, mind you)!
- Kris and Eric Niemiec.
Kris is also an NHS grad from our theater years. She met Eric up in Da Yoo
Pee at Michigan Tech. They now live in Howell, Michigan. It's a little warmer
there.
- Kevin O'Malley. I first
met Kevin while working in the Computer Lab, and we got to be pretty good
friends. We don't keep in touch much now that I'm in Boston, but I'll never
forget our pool parties and whisky sours.
- Chris and Lizzy Penny. I worked
with Chris in MSU's Graphics Lab. Nicest geek, er, really smart guy, I ever met.
NOW WITH PROGENY!
- Mike and Asmita Runge. Mike
and I started and ended our undergraduate years as suitemates, and spent the
rest of the time as roommates. I couldn't have been any luckier rooming blind
at MSU. He was a groomsman at our wedding. He worked as an engineer at AOL for
years. They have a little boy, Avi, and a little girl named Aanavi. In 2003,
they packed their stuff up and headed out west to San Francisco.
- Christopher Scott, A friend of the family, Christopher's a bright
guy who also plays in a few bands.
- Leo Sell, MSU Computer
Lab. Leo was my mentor at the Computer Lab in many ways.
- Howard Lewis Ship, former
Advis/Primix developer, now out on his own with a book and a couple great
technologies under his belt. Howard and Suzy bought a house in Quincy right
about the same time we moved out of quincy and into Somerville. *sigh*
- Julia and Roy Teahen. Julia worked with me on the MSU Council for
Performing Arts. Talk about working off a shoestring budget...
- Todd Vorce, fellow computer geek
and Burcham Woods resident.
- Alan Wigdoski's Beatdown
Magazine
- Alisha and Claudia Vera, a couple
very talented designers with a great family and a nice studio in Milton, MA.
- Ed Zielinski (a.k.a., "Sorva"), former God of Castle Arg, where I
was an admin. and a senior wizard.
