In article <31A92A5B.6929@village.ios.com>, John Saponaro <johns2@village.ios.com> writes:

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16 NASB

This one verse is generally considered to sum up the basics of Christian theology - the nature of God, the nature of Jesus, and salvation through faith in Jesus.

I assume the people holding up the signs are Christians who want to proclaim their faith, and perhaps might be hoping someone might look the reference up and do some thinking.

Hope this helps,

Ashley
